IODINE AND TELLURIUM ABSORPTION CELL WAVE METERS
Accurate wavelength calibration of high resolution tunable lasers can be obtained with our inexpensive and easy-to-use "wavemeter", consisting of a high quality iodine absorption cell and CNRS spectral atlas.
No complicated adjustments are required. Just direct a small part (typically 4%) of the laser beam through the cell and monitor the absorption or the fluorescence signal with an ordinary photodiode. Room temperature is ideal - no heating or cooling of cell is needed.
Region of use: 500-675 nm
Absolute accuracy: + 0.002 cm -1 ( 1 part in 10-7)
Use with CW or pulsed systems.
Use to check alignment of digital wavemeters.
Use to lock laser to fixed wavelength. (see for example H. Fietz et al., Applied Spectroscopy
35, 609, 1981.)
Cell material: Quartz
Cell dimensions: Cylindrical, 25mm X 150mm
Spectral Atlas: S. Gerstenkorn and P. Luc "Atlas du Spectre d' Absorption de la Molecule d' I
Iode (Editions du C.N.R.S., Paris 1978), 550 pages. Illustrated introductions in English and
French.
